About Casolena

A soulful escape on Lake Huron.

Casolena takes its name from Casa del Sole e della Luna, home of the sun and the moon. It is a family-owned waterfront cottage near Johnston Harbour on the Northern Bruce Peninsula, where striking architecture and calming nature converge.

Built to hold still moments

The house rises in glass and timber over 2,300 square feet. The design is open and timeless, with panoramic lake views from nearly every room. Sunrise reaches the beds. Storms roll across the great room's cathedral windows. On clear nights, the sky windows hand you the stars.

You don't do more at Casolena, you feel more. More rested. More connected. And more memories that last: slow breakfasts, shoreline walks, records on the turntable, card games past bedtime.

The pause you need

Weather is the theatre here.

The lake and sky windows turn every hour into a scene: turquoise mornings, silver rain, amber dusk. Guests tell us the same thing again and again. The photos don't really capture it.

Open all four seasons

Summer is famous. Winter is a secret.

June through September brings kayaks, deck dinners and swims off the rocks. In winter the lake freezes to glass, snow settles in the cedars, and the house glows like a lantern while the fireplace does its work inside.
